The real world is becoming seemingly more useless. People of the older generations cling to the days in which technology was less advanced while the younger generations cling to technology. There are already ideas about the possibility of being able to essentially convert one’s consciousness into a digital form. If successful, humans could transcend from their bodies and upload themselves to a ‘cloud’ where we are not restrained by our bodies. To communicate this idea, I created an image where a figure is essentially being swallowed up by the continuously growing digitized world around them. The figure was edited into colors that could only be created by digital means to communicate that the figure has in fact become digitized. The only undigitized parts of the image are small parts of nature. An interpretation of the choice to leave parts of nature undigitized while the figure is digitized is that humans can and will be willing digitize themselves while nature does not have that choice.
